Why does the duchess always have a plaster on her hand? Clumsy Kate's catalogue of injuries to her perfectly manicured fingers

It would appear that The Duchess of Cambridge is prone to the odd cut and graze like the rest of us - as she often seems to have a plaster on her hand. Her otherwise faultless image - whether she is at the Christmas morning service (pictured left) or visiting a charity (centre top) - is often marred by the unsightly skin-coloured tape wrapped around one of her fingers or thumbs. There was much speculation over a plaster on Kate's right hand last month which appeared the day after she met the feline star of the film premier A Street Cat Named Bob. But royal staff remained tight-lipped as to whether or not the plaster was due to her encounter with the famous cat.

Man, 60, who lived with huge TWO STONE facial tumour for 47 years has it removed after successful surgery in Nepal

A man who lived the majority of his life with a giant facial tumour has finally had an operation to remove the two stone mass.
Krishna Prasad Bhattarai, 60, developed the tumour in his childhood and suffered with the disfigurement for 47 years.
Doctors in his native Nepal said he was suffering from neurofibromatosis, a rare condition where non-cancerous tumours grow in the nervous system which is caused by mutations in genes.

He underwent a seven-hour surgery to have the growth removed at Sushma Koirala Memorial Hospital in his native Kathmandu, Nepal

The growth, pictured, was successfully removed and found to weigh almost two stone

Mr Bhattarai, pictured after the surgery, is now recovering well, although he still suffers from other effects of the condition including facial spots and boils

FORMER CUBAN PRESIDENT FIDEL CASTRO, WHO LED THE COUNTRY FOR NEARLY HALF A CENTURY, IS HAILED AS THE 'SYMBOL OF AN ERA' AFTER HE DIES AGED 90

Fidel Castro, who led his native Cuba for nearly half a century and claimed to have survived more than 600 assassination attempts, has died at the age of 90.His younger brother, Raul Castro, announced on state television that the Communist revolutionary died on Friday night. World leaders have paid tribute to the revolutionary, who came to power in 1959, with former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev praising him for 'strengthening' his island nation. Russian President Vladimir Putin described him as a 'symbol of an era', and said he was a 'distinguished statesman'. Nine days of public mourning for the deceased Cuban leader have been announced, when 'public activities and shows' will cease, and flags will fly at half mast. The news was met with shock in Cuban capital Havana, but Castro's death was celebrated by exiles in the US (inset), where a Cuban-American US Congress representative branded the late leader 'a tyrant'. The controversial leader made his last official appearance before the country's Communist party in April and predicted that his death was near. Castro (pictured right with revolutionary icon Ernesto 'Che' Guevara in the early 1960s) was 32 when he overthrew dictator Fulgencio Batista's government in 1959. The US severed diplomatic ties in 1961, banning all exports to Cuba except for food and medicine. Castro's brother Raul and President Obama moved to restore diplomatic ties in December 2014.
