BREAKING NEWS: Ghana President Mills dead

ACCRA July 24,(Reuters) - Ghana's President John Atta Mills has died unexpectedly, a presidential statement said, and an aide said his death occurred on Tuesday after he took ill on Monday night.
The death of the president of the world's No. 2 cocoa grower comes months before Mills was due to stand for re-election at the helm of the West African country that posted double-digit growth in 2011 and has been praised for its strong democracy in a turbulent region.
"It is with a heavy heart...that we announce the sudden and untimely death of the president of the Republic of Ghana," a statement sent to Reuters by the president's office said.
It said that Mills, 68, died a few hours after being taken ill but no further details were given.
A presidential aide, who asked not to be named, said the president had complained of pains on Monday evening and died early on Tuesday afternoon when his condition worsened.
Mills, who oversaw the start of oil production in Ghana, returned from medical checks in the United States several weeks ago.

Chanel's Haute Couture nail art

chanel_may_swatch.jpgThat was easy enough. But it turns out painting around the nail bed isn't as easy as it looks if you don't have a extremely steady hand. Dipping a paint brush (actually we used the brush that goes with Maybelline Gel Liner...) carefully pull the polish around the nail, trying to keep it moving before it starts to set.
chanel_how_to.jpgDon't worry about getting polish on your finger, you can just use a brush dipped in remover to get it off later (or just have a shower - the hot water magically washes polish from skin).
If you haven't got a steady hand, maybe the tape method would be better. Cut out oblong pieces of tape a few millimetres smaller than your nail, press them between your fingers to take some of the stickiness out and then place them on your nails, making sure the base is completely dry before you do so (or you will pull the base off and ruin all your hard work).

Wait for them to fully dry, then pull off...

The eight products you need in your make up bag

8makeup-musthaves.jpgIf you're half as obsessed with make up as I am, you'll have a bag bursting with all sorts of random stuff that you never use. A trend comes along and suddenly you end up with a dark green lipstick the sales assistant assured you that you could pull off, and three slightly different shades of orange lipliner. Then of course there are the multiple grey eyeshadows, red lipsticks (I think I have about 11 of those - they all have different undertones, hello) and a few old bottles of foundation you got halfway through before deciding they were the wrong colour and buying a new one, but keep anyway because waste is wrong.
But say you're sick of the mess and clutter and you want to reduce your product collection to the bare minimum: we've narrowed everything down to eight products that form the skeleton of a perfect kit. Obviously the time will come for a neon green eyeliner or a primer, but these are the things you'll find yourself using again and again, and as long as you have them, you'll be able to keep yourself looking respectable whatever trend is in fashion.

A black eyeliner
Basically a life tool for me, anyway. The perfect thing to make you look more finished and quickly vamp you up for impromptu events. They're also very versatile - create everything from a retro cats eye to a sexy smudged look with just the one item. If black is a bit too dark for you (might be a bit much on small eyes, as dark colours make them appear smaller), brown is a good alternative - especially if you have blue eyes: brown makes them pop.
